Game 4 The Rams win over Brantford Ice Cats
Full anticipation the stands filled up and we got what we were looking for…

The first goal was a quick one, Jenna brings it in with determination, Natalie E. right behind her, a little fight over the puck with some Ice Cats and a shot on the post. A rebound follows and is picked up by Elyse who finds a good space for the puck to be put in 1-0.
Mount Forest keeps on coming and Cali is on a roll she makes a breakaway, doesn’t get all the way through but with help from Allyson and Allysa hard passes come from the blue line to the front.
Abigail's mission today must have been goals and goals, she even found a Brantford Ice Cat to help her out for the 2-0. Abigail, Meagan and Gillian set up a great attack and nice passes from the boards are ending in front of the Brantford goalie. Elyse goes for a breakaway and she gives of a hard shot, which is stopped but gives Natalie D. a great chance for the rebound but the goalie was on her toes.
Jenna takes it around like a pro, it gives Avery a good chance in front of the net but it is denied by the goalie. They don’t give up and Allyson sets in the chase, she is flying low. Abigail turns on a dime and takes of again as she almost found the net once more with some help from the Ice Cats.
The second period starts of with a penalty as Avery gets tripped. Of the face off the puck is brought in by Elyse and Avery finish it with a big flip over a little goalie, 3-0. Avery doesn’t give up yet and with the next attack she tries a beauty of a backhand. And lots more shots on the Brantford net on that attack.
As the puck comes from behind our net on Gillians stick, she passes it on to Abigail who brings it in further and there is Meagan, small but might digging on the boards creating some good chances.
A hard working line of Natalie’s and Nikki make a nice play together and although it confuses the crowd, they know what the are doing and make it to the Brantford net with ease.
Abigail tries for another Brantford assist as Natalie E. stretches herself out in front of their net trying to help her out. Danielle gets a great chance and she doesn’t hesitate as she gives of a hard shot on net right of the face off.
Esther did not have to much to do, but made some very good saves and as she sat on one puck, she wasn’t about to give it up, no matter how many Mount Forest players asked for it! As the game went on she showed off with a very quick stick reaction to keep the puck away from her.As another attack followed it was great to see the insight the girls are getting for the game. As Elyse brought it up from the rear with the “N”-line (Natalie’s and Nikki) skating out in front of her and a nice pass to Nikki made sure the attack could go on without anyone being offside, great work!
Then Meagan and Gillian take off and bring it up from the rear a good pass lands on Meagan stick they bring it in front of the Brantford net and Abigail tries to finish it off with a hard shot. But there is more good passing and Elyse gives one in front of the net, Natalie D. makes no mistake and the score is 4-0. After a quick breakaway from Elyse end to end makes it 5-0. As the Brantford Ice Cats try desperately to get one of their own, Jenna stands her ground and plays for goalie deflecting the puck away from Esther.
The third period start off with a goal as well, Abigail brings it up towards the Ice Cat goalie and as it starts to slide in slow motion it doesn’t stop until it hit’s the back of the net.
But the girls are still working hard although they are getting tired, they don’t give up as Abigail brings it up again for Natalie E. to finish it off. Another big flip from Natalie E. makes its way over the net, one more chase for the puck by Nikki and one last save from Esther end a great game and lets us look forward to the next game in Cambridge (the game not the drive!) And a quick hello and thank you to TEXAS, awesome!
