Tough Home Loss to Hanover
I apologize for the lateness of this article folks, but, I think everyone wanted to go home and let this one sink in a bit.
The evening started on a lesson of COMMITMENT...you have to attend PRACTICE in order to play in the upcoming game.  If the Coaches don't hear from you, we can't assume.  The game started with a rather shortened bench.
Hanover jumped out to a one nothing lead, however Mt Forest battled back with a goal by David Zeinstra, assisted by Burke Cameron (a recent call-up from the House team due to a rather serious soccer injury to Chris Bouwers).  Luke McLellan got us ahead with a unassisted, yet "pretty" goal, and put us ahaead by another goal just before the period ended, assisted by Eric O,Neil.

Penalties in the first period weren't too bad, only two.....
Onto the second period.  A rather "chippy" game developed as is prone to happen when playing Hanover.  Penalties began to mount, with Mt Forest coming out on the short end of the stick.  However, our penalty kill worked just fine with NO Hanover power play goals in the second.   Hanover did add one goal to their total in the second.
The dreaded THIRD period, something we're struggling with.  The referee took to the ice, and could ONLY see the number "3" in white.  Morgan can be a rather "passionate" player when he wants to be.  While I won't defend his actions, it was apparent that Morgan DOES care !!  However, I don't believe that the boards, the door, or the stick were the losers in this one Morgan.....
Hanover took the lead with three goals in the third.  We were able to get one back.  Luke McLellan had orders from the bench to get on that ice and score a goal...guess what, he did, unassisted...a feat that I believe Luke can do at will....
Again we come back to that word COMMITMENT gents....every time you step on that ice, every shift, every period, every game, you have to give it everything that you possibly can.  If you do that, we'll begin to play THREE periods of fine hockey......
