Sit Back...It's Catch Up Time.....
It's been a couple of weeks since I've sat down and hammered out an article. I apologize for that...it's been a little crazy...
Anyway, what's went on ??
Your Midget Reps were away at the Wingham Silver Stick Tournament. Three games were played, 2 ties and a loss. Not good enough to continue.
We also played against Hanover on November 16th. We came down as hard as the snow that night. A three nothing loss....not pretty....Our game this past Monday night, November 24th in Lucknow was cancelled because of weather.
We were FINALLY back at home on November 26th against Minto. Does anyone know who was born on November 26th ??
Thomas BYE !! And what better birthday present than to score a goal. That's exactly what this hard working young man went and did, with the assist going to David Zeinstra. The birthday celebrations were short lived however as Luke McLellan got a tad upset with a Minto player. They both got tossed for fighting. Nice punch Luke ! Remember though that fingers and the helmet cage don't mix...OUCH !!
Minto came back and tied the game, but before the first period was over, Eric O'Neil scored unassisted on a beautiful shot from an incredible angle. Even the Minto goalie was fooled (my second cousin by the way).
On to the second. Burke Seehaver continued to find his scoring touch, with assists going to the Birthday Boy and the ever improving Morgan Holliday. Just prior to the end of the second period, Todd Taylor squared off with one of the Minto bruisers. You know Todd, if one of those roundhouses of yours had of connected, I'm not certain where that Minto player would be right now. As it was, it was pretty well a draw, with bragging rights going to any pieces of equipment Todd was still wearing by the end of it. See you following a one game rest Todd.....
OK...third period. We find ourselves up three to one. Sound familiar ??
Not this time folks...not THIS time. Minto was held to one goal, despite a steller performance by a certain referee to take this game away from us. In the end, cooler heads and an improving group of fine young men, came out victorious.
A BIG slap on the back goes to our goalie - Justin "MOUSE" Rawn....well done Justin !!
As I've been known to say...there is no doubt this team has talent. All it takes is to play as a TEAM, to BELIEVE in yourselves, and to WORK harder than the other team EVERY time you step onto that ice !!
One last thing...Tom, don't forget to turn ONTO, not OFF OF the Rawn's laneway........
