PARTY! PARTY! PARTY!
Party! Party! Party! was what could be heard from the ice as the huddled Rams congratulated each other on their at home win on Sunday.

This win was extra special for the Rams as it was their 5th in a row and as promised by coaches Brent, Shawn, Kyle and Jeff they could have a party to celebrate. (Thankfully for the coaches, manager Tanya took care of all the details for the party!)  The boys celebrated at the Mount Forest Bowling Center for supper and bowling.  Thanks to the Mount Forest Bowling Center for keeping the Bowling Center open just for the Atom team.
The game that allowed the boys their exciting win was against the Bruce Peninsula North Stars.  Nole Black, Alex Kieffer and Jacob Reeves wasted no time as they set each other up with passes and scoring opportunities.  Finally at the end of the first, Jacob Reeves lit the board after fighting his way through a maze of players with linemates Black and Keiffer. Reeves was face to face with the North Stars cager and smoked him on a beautiful deke to score.
Troy Weber was taken down in the corner which required Dr. Jeff's attention.  You knew it was a hard hit when tough guy Weber didn't get up.  But to show his revenge, next shift Weber hammered a shot to which the goalie stopped but Weber was right there to bang his own rebound to end the 1st period.
Just 12 seconds into the 2nd period the North Stars scored their first of the game to make it a 2-1 game.
A second wind from the visiting team as they scored again 2 minutes later on a slapshot which hit Kroes' trapper and bounced in.  It was a new game tied at 2.
Carsten Cottingham fired one in from the blue line but was denied.
Troy Weber broke the tie when Luke Cowen from behind the net shot out front to Cory Lewis then to Weber who lifted the puck into the mesh.
The Rams had two in the penalty box at the same time but using their strong defensive skills Dylan Reeves and Warren Zeinstra fought off the 2 man disadvantage well.
The 3rd period Brady Reeves-Coburn smoked a slapshot that could be heard throughout the arena as it hit the post.
Riley Moore took the wind out of the North Stars sails as he tipped the puck away from the 2-on-1 play in the Rams end.
Great back checking between the blue lines by Sully Fisher as he stole the puck from the North Stars and carried it down to their end, he fired a shot and Benn Zettler gobbled up the rebound.
From a center ice face off the North Stars walked into the Rams end and fired a fireball through the 5-hole to make it a 5-3 game.
Coburn blasted a shot that hit the goalies stick and deflected in. It was the final point to go up on the board but the Rams continued to work hard to keep their lead and claim their well deserved win.
Way to go boys on 5 in a row!
