The Bantam Reps can stand proud after the Clifford Tournament!

Bantam Reps Clifford Tourny Finalists

The Mount Forest Bantam Rams traveled to the Clifford Tournament Saturday, November 13 for a day that proved to be productive and impressive. 8 teams participated in over 12 hours of good, fast hockey. Rams made it to the final, fast and challenging championship game, and demonstrated their ability to go up against the best.

The first game of the tournament saw Mount Forest meet Mildmay, in a game that ended with a score of 2-0. First period goals, the only scored in the game, were popped in by defenceman Maverick Holliday, assisted by Jack Francis and second goal scored by Nolan Officer, assisted by defenceman John Bowden.

The win secured a spot on the 'A' side, and second game saw the Rams meet Bruce-Peninsula. First period action saw Jack Francis, with three minutes left, pop one in, assisted by Officer. A hard-hitting, but scoreless second period was followed by another goal by Francis, assisted by Officer and Owen Milne. With five minutes remaining, the Northstars rallied, but final score was Rams 2, opposition 1.

The championship game was the third game for the Rams, and it was a hard-fought match. The Wainfleet Wilds, traveling from the Niagara region, were well-matched with the local Rams. A scoreless first period, gave way to second period action that also saw no penalties for either team. The Rams opened the score board when Officer, assisted by winger Noah McCook, popped one in the middle of the second. Score at the bottom of the second : Rams - 1, Wilds - 0

It all came down to the third period. In spite of the best efforts by goalies Nathan Marshall and Dylan LaPrade, and the entire team,  the Wilds poured it on scoring 2 for a final score of Wilds 2, Rams 1.
Wainfleet won the tournament, with Mount Forest Rams taking the respectable silver.
Well Done Rams!
