Meagan's First Career Shut Out :)
The Mount Forest Girls came out on fire for their first regular season win.
What a way to get it with a shut out. (yay)
Walkerton came into our arena with a big team, looking for a victory, but our girls were too hot for them.
The first period was played mostly in the opposition end, with our forwards pressuring the Walkerton defence, with all the pressure our forwards were applying the only option was for the other team to try and ice the puck, but the MOUNT FOREST DEFENSE of Jenna, Cali, Kiawna and Jordyn were like a wall on the blue line. They kept a lot of pucks in the other end and when the puck was in our end they lead the rush out with strong skating and heads up passing.
The start of the second saw the line of Brittany, Natalee and Kaitlyn just miss in getting Mount Forest on the score board. Half way though the period Gillian put one past the Walkerton goalie for her 4th goal of the season with assists to line mates Erica and Dani.
The start of the 3rd saw the play go back in forth, Meagan making some great save, and all the girls hustling to the puck. With 8 minutes left in the 3rd period Natalee came flying from the bench getting a pass from Jordyn and beating the Walkerton goalie for her 1st of the season. With time ticking down all the girls worked hard to the final buzzer. Mount Forest wins 2-0 GREAT GAME.
