Midget LL Girls start season on the road
The Midget LL Girls headed North West for their first game October 17 to take on the Normanby Midget Rep Girls.  Visiting MoFo scored the first goal with 5 minutes left in the first frame when Jenna Yake finished off a Sarah Harman play.  The Rams kept the lead until 5 minutes left in the second frame when Normanby slipped one by goal tender Tamara Green. The Rams seemed to run out of gas as Normanby tallied for 3 more goals in the third to finish the game 4 - 1.

Game 2 took the team further north into apple country where the Georgian Shores team played host at the Meaford arena.  The play was pretty even with action at both ends but the Rams couldn't get one by the Georgian cager.  The Georgian team managed to slip 2 into the Mt Forest net - one at the 7 minute mark of the first and again at the 14 minute mark of the 3rd.  The fans couldn't help notice how these girls are starting to gel as a team and know they will be a force to be reckoned with in a month or two.

Game 3 was a rematch with our neighbours to the North West but this time it was in our 'barn' (best darn barn around).  Sarah Harman started the scoring for the Rams with 2.02 left in the first period only to have Normanby attack back quickly and tie it up at 1.54 on an unassisted goal by Schrienert and again at 1.25 when Alaina Rouw finished off a Kelsey Ebert play.  Harman tallied again on a pass from Carly McQueen with 6 minutes left in the 2nd to tie things up and finished her natural hat trick at 2.02 of the 2nd assisted by Jenna Yake to give Mt Forest the lead.  The third period was riddled with penalties but no goals so the Rams gained their first victory of the season and valuable points for the town toward the Reeves Challenge Cup.

Game 4 was a lovely Sunday evening in Walkerton; unfortunately our goalie was injured and Manager Joanne was looking for a volunteer to play net.  The girls decided they didn't want to cancel the game and they would give it their best shot with Jenna Yake in net.
Walkerton's Adrianne Droefke started the scoring with a wicked snap shot up with the peanut butter which surprised not only Yake but everyone in the stands.  Walkerton was handed a gift by the man in stripes when he called for a penalty shot and we're still not sure why.  Yake was couragous and held her ground but the lucky shooter managed to slide it into the corner under Jenna's stick.  Mount Forest pulled within one at the 5 minute mark of the second when Steph Penney dangled her way through  several white jerseys and then threaded the puck right past the goalie's catcher mitt and made the twine bulge.  Walkerton added 2 more markers in the third for a little insurance. The Rams outshot Walkerton but the Capitals goalie was solid and stopped a lot of rubber.   Mt Forest's Carlee Watson took advantage of traffic in front of the Walkerton net and guided a beauty wrist shot right past the goalie, assisted by Lizzie Gerrie with one minute left in the game.  The girls went home quite happy with the way they played and knowing that the next time they meet Walkerton their regular goalie Tamara Green should be back in action and ready to stone the Capitals.
