A Great Weekend in Lucan for the Atom Reps
Another great effort over the weekend by the Atom Reps as they took the 2010 All Ontario Champs - The Lucan Irish to overtime in the final game.
The Rams went undefeated in the Tournament - posting a 2-0-2 record going into the Championship game.
After giving up a goal in the first the Rams fought back hard and with the help of great goaltending by Morgan Troyer they were able to pressure the Lucan Irish.
Alex Iles was able to tie the game in the third as the Reps outplayed Lucan. The Rams and their fans felt they had taken the lead late in the 3rd with the puck getting by the Irish netminder, however the suspect officiating saw it differently.
With the game sent to a 3 on 3 sudden death overtime, as in most instances it is a flukey goal that decides it and that is exactly how Lucan prevailed - early in overtime making the final 2-1.
The Atom Reps again showed great team play and continue to improve together.
