End to End Action
The girls where back on the ice this weekend with a home and home series against the North Bruce Penisula North Stars. It was a game with end to end action, you only needed to purchase half a seat because the action kept you on the edge of your seat all game long.
The game started out with the NB Stars team all over us for the first couple minutes but the girls woke up and started fighting back, the action was end to end rushes for both teams they where very evenly matched. The NB stars finally broke through near the end of the 1st with a good hard shot that beat Sandra on the short side. With some fine work along the boards Chloe Roy and Jamie Glerum chipped the puck out of our end and the the chase was on, 2 NB stars defenceman where well ahead of the speedy chaise McRobb but she put her head down and blew past both of them and was on a break away the fans lept out of there seat and where cheering her on GO CHAISE GO!. She went in shot and the goalie stopped it but she couldn't corral the rebound and Chaise shot it in the net 1-1 the girls erupted with the goal as did the fans. The rest of the game was a back and forth battle with plenty of chances going both ways, with 5 mins to play the NB Stars got a lucky bounce that squeeked in past Sandra to put them up 2-0. With 3 mins left to play the puck is cleared out of our end, and in goes Lexi she shoots and the puck bounced straight out the side of the net so that there was no rebound to be had. With the goalie pulled and an extra attacker on the ice the girls put the pressure NB didn't know what hit them, in the end though the final score was 2-1 loss for the girls. But they are determined not to let it happen again in the next game.
