Creemore Midget Tournament Champions
On December 27 the team travelled to Creemore, on what looked like might be a stormy day to enjoy sunshine and comradery for a great day, and tournament win!

With an 11 am start the teams first opponent was the Creemore Valley Hawks. The teams played the first 10 minute period evenly and scoreless, until 3:03 remaining in the second Alex Bondy and David Orr teamed up for the first goal of the game. With 1:18 remaining in the game the home team tied it up sending the game to overtime. Overtime rules were tricky 5 minutes of play - no line changes within each minute - buzzer after every minute and then play stops and 1 player leaves the ice...get called for a penalty and it is a penalty shot! At 3:15 remaining in the overtime Creemore took a head check penalty, giving Kevin O'Neill the opportunity for a penalty shot chance...and the win 2 - 1!!
With just an hour break before game 2 against the Midland Centennials. Starting with another scored first period Gavin MacVicar started the scoring picking up the rebound shot of Orr at 5:31 in the second. Midland came back just a minute later to tie up the game going into the third. Just 2 minutes into the 3rd and Blake Lewis put one in the net with a pass from Orr, MacVicar teamed a minute later with O'Neill to go up 3 - 1, and Kurtis Snyders put the puck into an empty net with 8 seconds remaining for the 4 - 1 win sending the team to the Championship game at 5pm.
Championship game versus the Bruce Peninsula Predators, a team the Rams have played twice in regular season play and not faired well with the score - but always worked hard. This game would be no different! The Rams start the scoring with 33 seconds left in the first when O'Neill makes an unassisted goal for the lead. Just 30 seconds into the 2nd and the Predators tie it up, and then pull ahead with 4 minutes left in the second. Then with 3:35 remaining in Lewis scores his second goal of the tournament to tie the game going into the third. Both teams worked hard in the third, but there was no scoring to send this Championship game into overtime! Played in 5 minute intervals and going right down to one on one for 7 minutes and 34 seconds the teams battled and playe dthe ultimate cat & mouse game...with an allowable change on the fly on a rebound from goalie Dylan Laprade, Lewis was on the ice and off in a flash and the Predator player "breathing" down his neck his shot was on and in for a most exciting - nerve racking win! Great day and well played final game by all players! Congratulations Midget Rams!
