Walter Gretzky Tournament
The Pee Wee C Girls only allowed 2 goals in 3 games but came up short on the scoring side!

In the first game of the Tournament the Rams had to face off against the Saugeen Shores Storm.  Having played the Storm in regular league play four times the Rams knew the first game of this Tournament was going to be a tough game.  The first period was not stop action and the Rams skated well with the Storm and at the end of the first it was a scoreless game.  It wasn't until the final minute of the second period that the Storm was able to get the scoring started and the Rams would start the third down by a goal.  The Girls kept at it and created a lot of opportunity's but the Storm were able to keep the Rams off the scoreboard and with 5 minutes left in the third added the insurance goal.  The Rams lost the first game 2-0 but played a great game and played well for three full periods.  Marissa Cottingham got the well deserved MVP for the game for her outstanding effort in net.

The second game for the Rams was against the Ancaster Avalanche.  The Rams were ready and knew that they would have to work hard against this Avalanche team that consisted of 17 skaters.  The Game was packed full of great plays but it was the amazing defensive efforts of both teams that this game would end in a 0-0 tie.  Congrats to an amazing defensive effort from Kyla, Jayde, Jasmine and Addie.  Marissa earned here 11th shutout of the season and Game MVP went to Jasmine Malott.  All year the Rams have had to work hard and skate with much larger teams and did it again, Great effort!!!

The Third game of the Tournament the Rams would take on the East Lambton Eagles.  The Girls where playing some great defensive hockey but knew they needed to get on the scoreboard to get a Win.  In this game Addie Fisher moved up to the Wing and Aalia Gade took Addie's spot on Defense.  The Coaching staff was hoping this change would allow for some extra offense for the Rams.  In the second period with the game still scoreless the change up would pay off.  Addie would give the Rams their first goal of the tournament assisted by Morgan Flanagan.  Although the Rams kept coming the Eagles goalie would not surrender another goal.  Another solid effort by the Rams defense would help Marissa earn her 12th Shutout of the Season.  Game MVP went to Aalia Gade who played defense like she had been playing defense all year.  Although 1-1-1 would not earn the Rams a spot in the semi-finals they played a great tournament.  The Girls are playing great Hockey at the right time of year.  In their last 5 games they have only allowed 3 goals against, earned 3 shutouts and are 2 wins, 2 ties, 1 loss.  Keep up the Great work and lets Play our Best tonight against Grand River!!  Go RAMS GO!!!
