Pee Wee C Girls are going to Provincials!!!!
The Pee Wee C Girls go undefeated in Provincial Play downs to qualify for Provincials!

This road to success all started back on September 22nd when the Rams had their first game of the 2013/2014 Season.  Little did the Girls know that this would be the very team that they would have to beat to qualify for Provincials.  The Rams played the Grand River Mustangs in a exhibition game and left the arena with their first loss of the season.  The Girls were disappointed with the 4-1 loss but the coaching staff liked what they saw in this first game and new that they had a great group of talented players, and the journey began.  Five Months later and Thirty two games later the Rams found themselves in this very same arena for the first game of the Provincial Play downs.

In the first game the Rams and the Mustangs both came out working hard and after the first period the game was still scoreless.  Once again the Rams solid defense were able to limit the shots and those that got by were stopped by great goal tending.  It was the Mustangs that would strike first halfway through the second period when the Rams lost sight of a lose puck in front of their net.  This Ram team never lets a goal slow them down and 1 minute and 13 seconds later Morgan Flanagan assisted by Haven Leblanc would tie this game up.  Tied 1-1 going into the third period the Rams kept up the pressure but the Mustangs held strong.  Great defense and Goal tending saw this first game of the play downs end in a tie.

The Second game took place in Mount Forest and the girls wanted to take the lead in this series and knew they needed to win at home.  The Girls were full of energy and could hardly wait to get onto the ice and prove to everyone how much they wanted this win.  The Rams wanted to take hold of this game by scoring the first goal and it didn't take long.  In just under 2 minutes of the puck being dropped Aalia Gade would take the puck end to end and put the Rams up by one.  The Rams kept coming but the Mustangs defense were able to hold on and finish the first period only down by one.  In the second period both teams would exchange chances but it was the Mustangs that would tie the game.  With the game tied going into the third period the Rams new what they needed to do.  Just like how the game started, in the first 2 minutes of the third period Taryn North would send a loose puck behind the Mustangs Goalie, assisted by Hanna Gerrie.  The Mustangs would not give up and continued to pressure the Rams which resulted in the Rams taking a tripping penalty.  Only 30 seconds into killing off the penalty the Rams were hit with another penalty.  The Rams were going to have to kill off a 5 on 3 if they wanted to stop the Mustangs from tying this game.  The Girls might of skated the hardest they have all season but they were not going to let the Mustangs back into this game.  The Mustangs were unable to capitalize on their Power play and the Rams continued to pressure the Mustangs.  With less than 5 minutes left in the third period the Mustangs were called for slashing and the Rams did what the Mustangs couldn't. Hanna assisted by Addie Fisher and Haven Leblanc put this game away with a Power Play goal.  The Rams played a amazing game and took hold of the series.

The Third and final game of this series was back in Fergus.  The Rams had not won in this building this season and knew if they wanted to get to Provincials that had to change.  The Mustangs knew they had to win and they saved their best game for last.  The Mustangs would strike first and the Rams once again found themselves having to come from behind.  Like the first game in this series the Rams would answer back and with 28 seconds left in the first period Taryn North assisted by Taylor Mclellan and Jasmine Malott would tie this game.  The second period seen an amazing effort from both teams that would not give a inch.  This game would remain tied going into the third period.  Both Goalies were not letting anything else by them and with time running out the Mustangs had to try something.  With less than 2 minutes to play the Mustangs pulled their goalie to get that extra attacker to try and break the tie.  The Rams were able to hold off the Mustang attack and with 12 seconds left in regulation Taylor assisted by Hanna and Taryn would put this game away with an empty net goal.

This Pee Wee C Team played some amazing hockey in the Play downs.  It is great to see how much each player has improved since the first game of the season.  The Rams went undefeated in their first Provincial Play down and never allowed more than one goal against in each game.  A great all around effort from every player on this team.  These girls have not only improved as players but have become a GREAT TEAM!!
