Year-end Awards
The Mount Forest Minor Hockey Association hosted its annual awards banquet on May 2 and five members of the peewee girls house-league team received trophies.
The awards were voted on by the bench staff and manager.
And it wasn't easy as there was debate for each-and-every award which just shows how hard these young ladies worked this year.

The awards went to:
Sportsmanship and Dedication - Megan Henry
(Be it the wing, centre, or defence, Meg worked hard at every position we put her at this year doing her best for the team)
Most Improved - Abby Walker
(A lot of expectations were put on Abby this season – mainly by her father – and she didn't disappoint. She turned into a solid stay at home defender who the opposition could not beat one-on-one. Her defensive work allowed her partners to rush the puck knowing that Abby had their back)
Best Forward – Paige Dowling
(She might not be our biggest player, but Paige played with a grit and determination that we sorely needed this season)
Best Defenceman - Ariana Machan
(Ariana was our hardest worker this year and it showed in her defensive play, whether it was leading the attack with one of her daring end-to-end rushes or sprinting back to help out defensively)
Most Valuable Player – Evelyn Nanninga
(Great players aren't just great by themselves, they also raise the their teammates up with them. Evy was the engine that made us go this year, leading us in scoring and playing solid defense all season)
Good job ladies.
