WINNING UGLY
Sat afternoon found the Rams all suited up and ready to play the Hanover Falcons. Although the Rams talked the talk they didn't do the walk when the game started.
By the time the Rams realized that the only team that came prepared to play was the Falcons the Rams were trailing 3-0. An individual effort by Cayden Bryant cut the score to 3-1 late in the second period. This goal gave the Rams life and they scored another goal before the end of the second period to trail 3-2 after two periods.
A little soul searching in between the 2nd and 3rd periods had the Rams in a little better competitive mood to start the third period.
39 seconds into the 3rd period Joey Ferguson scored to tie the game 3-3. 3 minutes later Spencer MacArthur scored to give the Rams their first lead in the game. Hanover mounted a serious rally to try and tie the game and they succeeded scoring the tying goal with 3 minutes remaining.
Overtime was almost too exciting for the Mount Forest fans as Hanover had several early scoring chances but could not capitalize.
A faceoff in the Hanover end worked to the Rams advantage. Off the draw, a set play by the Rams worked to perfection. MacArthur won the draw over to Carriere who dropped a pass to Ferguson his hard shot was stopped by the goalie but Carriere pounced on the rebound and lifted it over the Hanover goalie. !!!!!VICTORY!!!!!!
The team will finish this round of the playoffs next Sat at home 4.pm.
