Aylmer Tournament Silver Medallists
This past weekend the girls played in the B.A.D. Girls tourney in Aylmer.

The girls first game was against the West Grey Warriors at 1:00 Friday. It would turn out to be one of the best efforts from each and every player this season. West Grey would score early in the first but our girls would answer back to knot it 1-1 going into the second. Mt.Forest would explode with 3 more in the second to take a 4-2 lead entering the final frame. Excellent play from both teams continued in the third, Mt.Forest would knotch another goal to take a 5-2 lead with minutes remaining on the clock. West Grey would score again with seconds remaining on the clock, when the final buzzer sounded Mt.Forest skated off with a 5-3 victory. Game 2 would see the Rams play the host B.A.D. Blazers at 5:15 Friday. After some down time and some lunch the girls were all excited to get back on the ice and they sure didn't disappoint the fans in attendance. The Rams came out flying scoring 3 goals in the first and adding 1 more in the second. The girls played the rest of the game on cruise control and coasted to a 6-0 win. Mackenzie turned away every single shot she faced in net to record the shutout.
On Saturday the girls would face the Mooretown Lady Flags at 12:15 to close out the round robin portion of the tournament. This game would see a lot of back and forth action with neither team really dominating. Minutes into the second period the Lady Flags would score on the power play to take a 1-0 lead. Mt.Forest tried desperately to answer back but just couldn't solve the Mooretown goalie, final score was 1-0 in favour of Mooretown.
After finishing second in their pool the girls were off to the finals on Sunday vs Mooretown. The girls would take the lead in the first period and at the end of the second would still have a 1-0 advantage entering the third period. Mooretown came out in the third period and caught our girls back on their heels. The pressure from Mooretown would take its toll on the girls as they scored 3 relatively quick goals to take a 3-1 lead with just a couple of minutes left on the clock. The Rams tried their best to even the score but Mooretown proved to be too much on this day, final score 3-1 for Mooretown. Although the end result isn't what we had hoped for these 13 girls played their butts off and can hold their heads high. The coaching staff and your parents are super proud of you, thanks for a great weekend everyone.
