Goderich Tournament Champions
This past weekend the novice rep Rams travelled to Goderich to play in their first tournament of the season Action started friday night against the BCH Ice Dogs. Although falling behind early the Rams battled back to a decisive 4-2 win outshooting their opponent by a large margin
Next up was the host team from Goderich on Saturday morning. Playing us to a 2-2 tie and a 3-2 Rams win in 2 previous meetings this year the Rams came out to play and totally dominated the play from start to finish cruising to a 6-1 win. Next up was a physical team from Central Perth. Again the Rams fell behind early but then turned it on shortly after and cruised to another 6-1 win assuring themselves a spot in the semi finals on Sunday morning. Up was the host team again from Goderich for the semi final game. They were ready for the Rams this time and held the game scoreless through 1 although the Rams had numerous chances. With a lot of determination and relentless pressure the Rams finally broke through and got a 3-1 win although the Goderich goalie made numerous saves and held his team in the game making it much closer than it should have been. On to the final game against the Ilderton Jets who also cruised in to the finals. The game started off with much of the pressure being applied by Ilderton but great defensive zone coverage and great goaltending kept it scoreless The Rams found their stride and rolled to a decisive 5-2 win over a very good Ilderton team. We are the champions!!! I am very proud of how these young men played this past weekend and am looking forward to what the rest of the year holds. If we continue with the hard work and relentless puck pressure shown this past weekend I think we will be very successful
