Girls Classic Winners
The Pee Wee girls participated in the 2nd annual Girls Classic hosted by Mount Forest Minor Hockey and the weekend was a great sucsess with some very stiff competition. The Pee Wee team won this tournament last year and they had their hearts set on making this a repeat success.

The First game was as close as you can get with a 1-0 win over league rivals Walkerton. Gm. 2 against the Grand River Mustangs and the girls broke out with an 8-0 win, Gm. 3 Keene Wolves (Ottanabe ) Our  girls knew nothing about this team so we focused on defense to start the game and with it tied at a goal apiece after the first Keene was giving us a good battle, but with a change of ends the girls came out flying to eventually take a 5-1 win.  Game 4 VS. Saugeen Shores and they proved to be a very tough opponent. This was a closer game than the score would dictate but we managed to squeak out a 3-0 win. With 1 more game to go after already playing 4 games in 2 days the girls where very tired but they could see the finals in sight and with 1 more win they would place 1st and get the home ice advantage and last change. TCDMHA was the final round robin opponent and the girls dug deep and came away with a tidy 7-0 win and with that went straight home to bed after 3 games in 1 day.
The Finals and the girls are the defending champs. They don't want to let another team win in their areana  but Walkerton wanted it just as bad as us and what a game it was! A back and forth battle and both teams were doing what they had to do. This was a fantastic game to watch as these teams are very evenly matched. Mount Forest got on the board 1-0 and it stayed that way until 4 minutes left in the game when Walkerton finally broke through to tie the game at 1-1.  With a quick pep talk on the bench our girls stormed right back to get the go ahead goal with 2 minutes remaining and then sealed it with an open net goal.  Walkerton made our girls bend but they didn't break. And with that the girls came away with their 2nd straight Girls Classic title. This is now 2 tournament championships in a row for the Pee Wee girls with the Mitchel Meteors tournament win.
