The Mount Forest bantam Rams scored their second straight 3-0 victory
over the Kitchener Lady Rangers – this one coming in Wednesday’s
exhibition action.
Morgan F. notched the winner near the end of the second period when she swatted a rebound out of mid-air and past the Kitchener goalie.
The game took an unusual twist when Kitchener lost its goalie in the third period due to a back injury. With no backups available from either team, the visitors opted to go with six skaters the rest of the way.
Mount Forest padded its lead with a couple empty-netters off the sticks of Jayde M. and Kansas L.
Alyssa V. handled 15 shots, including a dandy pad save in the game's final seconds, to preserve her 27th shutout of the season.
The locals collected a 3-0 victory over the Lady Rangers in Kitchener on Sunday.
The Rams wish their winger Hailey H. a speedy recovery. The Mount Forest assistant captain was helped off the ice near the end of the game after she crashed heavily into the end boards.
Next up for the Rams is another exhibition match on Sunday. Game time at the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex is 2:15 p.m. The Kincardine Kinucks supply the opposition.
