Silver Medalist in Fergus Tourny
Last weekend, the girls were on fire.
Our first game on Friday was again North Halton. The girls played hard and won 2-0. The teams second game was against Ancaster. Girls had a slower start, but finished hard and ended up winning 5-0.
In between games, the girls were lucky enough to attend a Women's University Game, Guelph Gryphons vs Laurentian Voyageurs. The Peewee girls were able to ask the Voyageurs players and coaches lots of questions. The girls watched the university teams warm up off ice, on ice and watch the game. Great experience overall.
After all this excitement, we headed back to Fergus to play our second game of the day to face Caledon. The girls must have been inspired as they went on to win big, 9-0. Shoutout to Raychel Duncan who scored 6 goals this game. On Sunday, the girls were off to the finals. They faced Ancaster. After the first period, they were down 1-0. The team came out over confident. After the second it was tied at 1. After a scoreless 3rd period, we were headed into OT. The girls dominated the last half of the game, had lots of chances, but were unable to bury. We headed into a shootout. Unfortunately, we came out on the wrong side of the scoreboard after the shootout when 6 rounds. Coaches were very proud of the effort and skills demonstrated over the course of the weekend.
