A Night of Generosity
Goals, Penalties and the spirit of sport was in generous supply tonight in Minto as the U-15 gentlemen beat the Mad Dogs 7-1.
The Mount Forest Rams battled hard tonight against the Minto team and their outstanding goalie Jasper More. #14 Griffin Y. opened the scoring with an unassisted goal followed by another goal from the centre man assisted by #7 Liam W. The first period closed with a short-handed goal from #18 Troy A. assisted by #16 Madden B.
The second period was wild and crazy with six penalties for the Rams but they were able to score two in between rests in the penalty box. #15 Nolan D. took a slapshot that was tipped in by #77 Mason C.The second goal was assisted by #21 Mason L. and tucked into the mesh by #16 Madden B. Minto was able to open their scoring with two of the Rams in the penalty box, but fearsome defense lines and goalie Silas S. kept them from adding anymore. A shout out to goalie Pryce, hope you get feeling better real soon!
The third period was capped off with two unassisted power play goals from #18 Troy A.
The boys displayed the spirit of sportsmanship, by collecting money to give to Minto goalie Jasper M. in preparation for his trip. A presentation of $400 (donated by U-15 players, parents and relatives of the team) and $500 (donated from Mount Forest Minor Hockey Association) was made to Jasper. Thank you to everyone for their generosity! We wish Jasper all the best with his treatments and safe travels.
