Fans Sad - Not Disappointed
Fans of the U-15 Local League team watched as their team's season closed this evening with a loss to the Wingham Ironmen.
Along with the personal DJ of the team, fans tried to keep the upbeat spirit in the home town rink, but the Ironmen were too much competition for the Rams sinking them 4-1. The Rams end the season with a 4-2-1 record. Throughout the season and post season they did not disappoint fans with their effort and abilities, both on the ice and off.
Goalie #30 Pryce L. saw action early in the first as Wingham scored a goal on the power play.
The game winning goal came for the Ironmen in under 3 minutes as the second period unfolded the most action for fans. Mount Forest was able to respond with their lone one, on an assist from #21 Mason L., to his wing partner #6 Roewn O. who was able to score the goal. Wingham put two more on the board to close out the Rams from moving on.
The Rams struggled a bit staying out of the penalty box serving nine penalties in total. The loss did not come for lack of trying as defence squads jumped up into the play and tried to generate assistance on the offence. Play was gritty and full of goal scoring opportunities.
