Welcome to U18B Girls Tryouts!
Our tryouts will consist of 4 sessions:
May 5: 9:00pm- 10:00pm Normanby Arena, Ayton
May 6: 12:00pm- 1:00pm Normanby Arena, Ayton
May 7: 12:00pm- 1:00pm Normanby Arena, Ayton
May 10: 9:00pm- 10:00pm Game vs Orangeville, Alder Arena, Orangeville
Upon arrival please sign in at the desk, and you will receive further instructions. If you are from another center, please have your signed permission to skate form. A $50.00 non refundable fee is required, payment is to be made by cash or e-transfer.
The tryouts will consist of a variety of drills and scrimmages. The players will be evaluated on their ability in several hockey skills, but I will also take into account effort and competitiveness.
Last season I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to be one of the coaches that assisted the U15B Mount Forest Girls in winning the Southern Championship title and Provincial Gold. I plan to continue to encourage this commitment and competitiveness in U18.
This year's U18B Team will emphasize on Skill development and Systems Orientated Play. In addition to the regular OWHA Southern schedule, they will also compete in exhibition games and several tournaments. The athletes will participate in physical training and additional ice time to improve conditioning and skills. We will be using off ice video review and white board sessions to help the players improve their game. Our primary focus is on performance, sportsmanship and competitive play.
