Bantam Rep RAMS Continue Their Winning Streak!
Submitted By Kim Francis on Wednesday, October 28, 2009
The Bantam Reps enjoyed a weekend of hockey and success as they battled TCDMHA Rebels to a 5-3 victory on Saturday in Chatsworth.

The Rams came out strong in the first period with Ford McCook scoring the first goal, and Ian Bridgewater,  the second just 2 minutes later. To top off the third period, Kevin O'Neil, assisted by McCook, popped in the third goal for a 3-0 lead.
The second period saw McCook rush the net unassisted, score 4-0. The Rebels retaliated with a goal of their own, and turned up the heat on goalie Laura Rumph, who held them at bay. O'Neil scored the team's 5th goal, assisted by Brandon Hotchkiss to close the second period, with a lead of 5-2.
Third period 'action' saw a few changes to our bench, but the final outcome was a win, 5-3.

Sunday, the Bantam Reps ventured to Wingham for a hard fought win against the Wingham Ironmen. 15 seconds into the game defenceman John Bowden assisted the first goal scored by Ford McCook, setting the pace for David Orr to tap in the second, assisted by Ian Bridgwater and McCook. Orr made it 3-0 to end the first period.
The Ironmen returned and tested goalie Kurtis Trommelen who had a first-period shut-out, making the score 3-2. But the Rams rallied for a 4th goal by McCook, assisted by Bridgwater. Second period ending in a score of 4-3.
Third period action saw Alex Bondy, assisted by McCook, throw in the fifth goal, but the Ironmen rallied again, to tie it up, 6-6, at the bottom of the 3rd. With 6 seconds left in the game, defenceman Liam Francis, and centre Bridgwater, fed the puck to McCook who scored the Ram's 7th, and winning goal. Final score 7-6 Mount Forest Rams!

Special thanks to the 'Dukes of Hazard' and their enthusiastic rink-side encouragement for the team.

When "Chief" (aka head coach Ian Francis) asked the team to step up and raise funds for the Walk for Cancer, he upped the ante by making it a challenge to other RAM teams.  The PeeWee rep team answered.
