Midget LL Win Gold at Wasaga Beach Tournament
Three hard played games with guts, determination and perserverance produced the glory of the GOLD!!

Game 1 vs Wasaga Beach Team #3 - Wasaga started the scoring with only 1:44 remaining in the first. Both teams had a low number of shots as they were learning each others game with 5 for Wasaga and 1 for the Rams. Matt Hogg and Branden Hotchkiss worked together late in the second to tie the game at 1 per side going into the third. Midway through the 3rd period the Rams turned up the heat with 2 quick goals from Matt & Gavin MacVicar and backed up by Jarren Kerr, Alex Bondy & Aidan Capell to go up 3 - 1. With just over 2 minutes remaining Kerr scored unassisted to lock in the win. Final shots 20 for Rams to 11 Wasaga.
Game 2 vs Ayr Flames - There was no scoring until the 2nd, when Hotchkiss and Luke Hogg teamed together for a point. Followed shortly there after by Matt Hogg & Darin Lauzon. Luke & MacVicar score in the 3rd for a final of 3 - 0.
Game 3 vs Hanover - It makes sense that the final game of any sport should be the best - and by the game sheet this was a great game for both teams! Mount Forest Goalie Kurtis Trommelen teamed with Matt Hogg for the first goal late in the first to put the Rams on the board first. Hanover scored late in the second to tie up the game. Both teams had a minor penalty each in the second for slashing & tripping for the only penalties in the game, which shows restraint and control at the Midget level. In the third the Rams turned it up with goals from Bondy and David Orr, assisted by Matt Hogg on both & Lauzon to give the win and the Gold Championship!
Speaking with the coaches and parents this day was true evidence of this teams heart, determination and control! Great job boys!! Let's carry this victory into the playoffs!
