NOT 1 NOT 2 BUT 3 TIES TO START 2017
The Rams travelled to London to take in the Jayden Memorial Tournament. Game 1 was a sluggish affair as it was the first game in a couple of weeks Final score 1-1 vs the Harrow Blue Rams.
Game 2 was against one of London's top teams. A very spirited game was played with several penalties being handed out. The Rams not used to being man handled had to dig deep to find the courage to do battle. Find the courage they did and battled to 3-3 tie.
Saturday afternoon the Rams faced a Kitchener team knowing with 2 ties they would probably need a win to advance to the playoff round. A great end to end game ensued. hard to believe final score 2-2.
With results of the other games just completed the Rams found themselves tied with the team they had just played tied for 4th place. The team nervously waited at where they post the scores hoping against hope that somehow we would be the 4th place team. You should have the smiles on the players faces when the results were posted RAMS in 4th Kitchener in 5th. The people that say winning doesn't matter should have been there.
So it is off to bed for a sleep before the Rams take on another London Bandit team 9.30am. The winner to play in the finals Sunday afternoon.
Sunday morning the Rams played London the score for most of the game was 1-1. Late in the game the Rams ran into penalty trouble. London scored on the ensuing power play and added a late goal to make the final 3-1.
The team defence and our 2 goalies had a great weekend allowing only 9 goals in 4 games.
A great effort and display of sportsmanship by all involved.
