TIVERTON - Hailey H. and Peyton M. collected two points apiece to pace their Mount Forest bantam C Rams to a 2-0 semifinal victory over the Kincardine Kinucks at the Saugeen Shores International Silver Stick tournament.

Saturday’s action saw Hailey score the game-winner in the first period. Morgan F. tallied an insurance marker in the second, on an assist from Hailey.

Peyton chipped in with assists on both goals in a terrific effort throughout two games on Saturday.

“Kincardine gave us a real tough test. They pushed us hard,” said Rams coach Bill W.

“So we needed to come up big. And we did. That was an all-around performance by our team. Every girl played hard, did what we asked and had a positive impact.”

Saturday’s playoff-round victory sets up the championship final as the Rams face off against their league rivals, the South Bruce Blades.

The final goes at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Plex in Port Elgin.

In earlier pool play Saturday, the Mount Forest girls assembled 9-0 victory over the Walkerton Capitals.

Peyton scored three goals in the early game while Hailey registered a goal and two assists. Carley C. potted two goals for winners against a short-staffed Walkerton team.

Singles went to Morgan, Charlotte T. and Kansas L. with Haven L. had three assists.
