Rams split on weekend
Submitted By Andrea Varallo on Sunday, November 08, 2009
The Novice Rams played 2 great games this weekend which resulted in a win and a loss.

Saturday saw the Rams going up against a tough squad from Minto.
Minto put up 3 goals in the first period to take a 3-0 lead heading into the 2nd until Mount Forest came back with a goal from Eli M. in the first minute of the 2nd period and Parker S. adding another 56 seconds later to get the team within 1.
Minto then scored 2 more to start the 3rd period before Parker scored another one with the assist going to Eli M.
Nathan Z. also scored for the rams but it was a little too late as Minto added a couple more to end the game 8-4.
Player of the game was Eli M.

Sunday morning seen the kids travel to Kincardine to take on the Kinucks.
Mt. Forest had numerous chances in the first period but couldnt seem to solve a good goalie in the Kincardine net.
The Rams came out tough in the 2nd and Eli M started off the scoring a minute in with the assist going to Parker S.
This seemed to be contagious as call up Brodie L. scored 40 seconds later unassisted to make it 2-0.
2 minutes later Eli assisted on a Parker goal and then Nathan Z. got in the act on a goal with the assist going to Brodie L.

Nathan then scored his 2nd of the game and then assisted on  a goal by Kaleb R. who scored with 1 second left in the period. After the barrage from the Rams the 2nd period ended being up 6-0.
Hanna G. scored her first goal of the season 7 minutes into the third after having a few good chances througout the game.Colby S. scored 35 seconds later with assists going to Eli and Parker and Nathan completed his hat trick 24 seconds after that goal to make the final score 9-0.

The kids played great positionally and Noah F., although not extremely busy came up big when he had to and earned his first shut out.

Way to go, Hanna G for being the player of the game
This game was extremely hard for the coaching staff to pick a player of the game as everyone played great.
Although these players didn't get their names on the gamesheet, Evelyn N. and Alex V. played great defence again today and Addison F. played an excellent game today after being moved from her regular position.

Keep up the hard work Rams !!!!!!
