Edge of the Seat Playoff Start
The Bantam LL team has played 5 playoff games in 1 week...and what a week it has been.
The Bantam LL have been playing some great hockey to start their playoff season. They are halfway through in just a week and they already have a 4 -1 record in the round robin, home & home series. With 5 games to go over the next 2 weeks the games should be exciting.
The boys started their playoffs on Valentine's Day and it could not have been sweeter if it had been a box of chocolates, as they laid out a 6 - 4 win over Saugeen Shores. The passing play was great to watch and they dominated the ice throughout the 40 minutes of play.
In a late game at home on the 16th they hosted Bruce Peninsula (Wiarton) to punch out another win with ascore of 4 - 2. The following night the team traveled to Shallow Lake to play a nail biter game. They were down 2 -1 after the second to come back in the 3third period to tie & then with just 1:52 remaining to take the lead. The Lakers were not going quietly as they tied up the game with just 31 seconds remaining. Then just 57 seconds into the overtime period the home team scored to take the game. Handing the Rams their first loss.
Not to be discouraged by the game in Shallow Lake the boys came back home on Saturday the 20th to hand the Shallow Lake a clear loss as the home boys won 4 - 2.
On a beauty of a sunny day the team traveled again to the north to Paisley to face the Arran-Elderslie team to come out with a solid win of 5 - 1.
The Rams will be home again on the 27th at 5:30 to face the team from Saugeen Shores. Come on out to the arena and support these young atheletes in their quest for gold! Well it is the Olympics month!! See you at the rink!
