Red Hot Atom Rams in First Place!!!

The Mount Forest Atom LL#1 Boys played a lot of Hockey over Christmas break and ended up in First Place!!

The Rams hit the ice right after Christmas with a Tournament in Arthur on Dec 28th.  The first game the Rams played was against the host team Arthur Vipers.  The Rams won this game 3-1.  Next up for the Atom boys was New Tecumseth.  The Rams played one of their best all around games this year and came away with a convincing 9-1 victory.  Next up for the Rams would be the A Division Final game against Embro.  The Rams would throw everything they had against this team but were unable to come up with a win.  The boys played their hearts out right till the final seconds but were outmatched.  A great Effort for the Rams and they came away with a Silver in the tournament.  The Coaches were very proud of how well the Rams played in this tournament and in the final game.  

     With the tournament done on Sunday the Rams were off to play the first place team on Monday in Listowel.  The Rams played this Listowel team back on Nov 30th in Mount Forest and lost 6-4.  The Rams were told to play this team just like they had played the final game in the Arthur Tournament against Embro.  The Rams did just that and handed the Listowel Black their first league loss of the season.  Every player on the team stepped up and contributed to this amazing 9-1 win.  

     The next day the Rams were back at it again with their 5th game in 3 days.  A home game against the Listowel Red team.  The Listowel Red team new what they were up against and battled three periods with the red hot Rams.  This game was back and forth and was full of great opportunities for both teams.  With only one minute left in a 6-6 game the Rams would get the go ahead goal and seal it 7-6.  Once again these Rams keep playing until the final seconds and will not give up.  Great Job!!

     The final game of the Christmas break would be a Home game against Hanover #2 on Jan 4th.  With a win the Rams would be in first place in the Atom East Division.  The Rams didn't disappoint the home crowd.  The played as a team for 3 full periods and moved into first place with a 7-1 win!   

     The Atom LL#1 Rams have really started to play some amazing hockey.  The coaching staff is really proud of how far they have come already this season.  Great Job and lets keep it up for the rest of the Season!!!
