Dirty Underwear Equals GOLD?
Submitted By Kevin Rice on Monday, February 2, 2015
The girls attended the BAD girls hockey tournament this past weekend and they started with a win over the home town BAD girls.
So coach Kevin says with any winning streak you can't change your underwear! it's just hockey superstition everybody knows that! Well some of the girls really took this to heart I'm not sure if they will ever change them again.
sorry mom's!

ell the girls where excited for this weekend our first overnight tournament of the year I heard Tori had her bag packed 2 weeks ago!. The first game of the tournament we were playing the hosts of the tournament so we new we would be in tough after the 2 hour ride there we might have some rubber legs. But with the threat of no pool after the game the rubber legs got speedy in a hurry. The game gets underway and 3 minutes in Chaise breaks loose after the goalie Brianna dumped the puck behind the net and Chaise is off and there is no catching her & with a nice end to end rush which set the tone for the tournament 1-0. Tori bangs in the 2nd goal of the game from Chaise (this is a recurring theme). 3rd goal of the game Chaise buries it off a nice feed from Tori. The final minutes of the game with the BAD girls pressing hard they iced the puck so the face off is in their end and off the draw Chaise feeds it over to Tori and with a quick shot  she fires, the goalie makes a good save but Lexi R is there to bury it 4-1 final. With that the girls are pumped up this  means they can go in the  POOL. Player of the game goes to Chaise.

2nd game of the weekend it's an early one and our girls are not morning players. I think with a little too much of the bubbly on Friday night they came out of the gate very slow. The worst part of this is we are up against our arch Rivals West Grey. These girls have played each other many times and are quite familiar the game was a back and forth affair and  our defense was unbelievable in this game the tandem of " Hustle & Muscle" Lexi & Bailey where outstanding all weekend. The other pair of "Beauty & Brawn" Jordyn & Brianna where outstanding holding the line and getting the puck out and if there ever was a shot Brianna was there to turn them aside. These girls on defense go unheralded as they don't rack up points but we would be lost without them their efforts is what keeps us in games & without good defense you don't win.
First period ends in a tie these West Grey girls came to play so after a quick game plan change after the 1st period,  Lexi R gets us on the board form Karlee. 2 minutes later Chaise buries one on a nice pass from Alyssa, into the 3rd we go and Tori scores from Chaise to open the lead to 3-0. But West Grey to their credit keeps coming on strong they  finally get one past our D and goalie to make the final score 3-1. This was not an easy game the West Grey girls gave us all we could handle. Player of the game was Tori

3rd game if we win off to the finals and we are up against an unfamiliar opponet in the Sault St Marie Ice Storm and with very little info on them we knew we had to come out strong and set the tone. Part way throught the 1st  Jordyn  has a great end to end rush with Tori buring the rebound.  Chaise gets the 2nd one firing it in the top corner off a rebound from Lexi W &  Josie. With a mad scramble in the crease the Ice storm D puts her hand on the puck in the crease, wait a minute that's a penalty shot. With the fans and the coaches screaming from their bench the Ice Storm take a bench minor and 1 very loud fan gets a warning from the ref . We get a penalty shot Chaise goes in and roofs it top corner 3-0 the girls are fired up! The Ice Storm keep pushing but the girls were not to be denied a trip to the finals and in the 3rd Alyssa puts us up 4-0 from Tori.  Player of the game was Brianna the goalie.

The finals and we are up against the BAD girls again and we knew after beating them on Friday they would want revenge the girls came out flying to start the game and 1:15 into the game Karlee puts one in off their D's foot. Karlee had a great weekend she played great and really learned how to take a penalty her dad will be proud! Tori nets the 2nd goal of the game from Chaise 2-0. With 2 minutes left in the 1st Chaise buries it from Tori & Cassidy 3-0 after the 1st, but the coaches told the girls don't let up this is a good team and you have to keep up the pace and to their credit the girls didn't stop skating they could taste it. The forwards of Lexi R, Alyssa A, Josie, Cassidy, Tori, Chaise, Karlee "the goon" skated their butts off all weekend these girls came to play and boy they didn't disappoint all the fans in attendance. They forechecked, backchecked & did what the coaches asked great job girls. Into the 3 rd we go with a 3-0 lead Chaise buries it from Tori & Bailey to make the final 4-0. Player of the game goes to Tori. What a weekend for the girls they all played unbelievable against 3 very good teams who all made us work for it.

The only drama of the weekend was someone who shall be unnamed lost a hockey bag which caused a bit of anxiety for a couple hours luckily enough it was still at the arena a certain mom said her tailgate fell open but we think she just forgot to put it in the truck!!! (Tori; maybe next time you should put it in the truck!)
