W.O.A.A. Champs
Congrats to the Mount Forest Peewee Boys Rep team, who won the W.O.A.A. championship on the weekend.
The Peewee Team received a bye in the first round of playoffs, which meant they would have to be patient and practice, practice, practice. The second round started on January 28, against BCH. The team travelled to Hensall and came home with a 3-2
win.
The second game was held in Clifford on February 2, with a win in sight, and won 3-1. The following day the team travelled to Clinton, but came up short, loosing 5-4 to BCH. The team would have to wait till the weekend to get their revenge. The fourth game was also held in Clinton and the boys came to play, winning 6-0. With the win, the Peewees advanced to the next round against Mitchell. The first game was played on February 10 in Mitchell and once again they came home with a 2-1 win. With some rest the boys were set to play on February 14 in Mount Forest, where they won 2-1. The third game was played the following day in Mount Forest. Mitchell came out strong and we new the boys would have there work cut out for them. It was a well played game by both teams, but the Peewee team pulled off a 7-4 win for the championship. All 3 games were hard fought and could have gone either way. The Peewee Rep boys are on to the O.M.H.A semi-finals starting February 23. We are currently waiting to see who we play next. Good Luck Boys. Play Hard. Go Rams.
