WOAA CHAMPIONS
Submitted By Kevin Rice on Sun 03 08, 15
What a year for the Atom Rep girls!  This weekend the girls came fresh off back to back tournament championships and remained undefeated to capture the WOAA championship title.

It's been quite a year for this group of girls.  One that the coaches, parents and kids will remember for a lifetime.  The girls have been playing some fantastic hockey and making solid friendships along the way.The girls have been eating up their competition for the majority of the year earning a record of 33 - 4 - 1, two tournament championships and now the WOAA championship title. The title brought with it a special "feather in the cap" for the girls, defeating the only undefeated team in the WOAA this year - TCDMHA.  It was a hard fought battle from the drop of the puck with bragging rights on the line, but our girls had a sour taste in their mouths after the marginal losses that TCDMHA handed us in the regular season.  The teams are evenly matched and it proved to be a back and forth battle.  They kept our leading scorer off the game sheet today, but our depth of scoring proved to be too much to handle. The girls took an early lead in the first via a mad goal mouth scramble from Tori, only to have TCDMHA tie it up shortly after.  But in the dying seconds of the second period Lexi Rice buried a nice feed from behind the net from Alyssa.  That was all we needed as TCDMHA couldn't sneak one past our stellar D and hot goalie Brianna G. - who has recorded 20 shut outs this season and not many goals against.Let's keep it going for Provincials next month!  Way to go girls!
