Novice Rep, Meaford Tournament Champions
On Saturday, November 17th the Mount Forest Rams Novice Rep team traveled to Meaford for their first tournament of the season.  The team had a strong start with a 14-0 win against Shallow Lake.  The shut out was earned by Morgan Troyer, he was also credited with 3 assists.
Goal scorers, Alex Iles with 4 G ,1 A, William Black, 4 G ,1 A, Gavyn Stevenson 2 G ,1 A, Anthony Kelly 1 G, 2 A, Thomas Brown 1 G, 3 A, Evan Dewar 1 G, 2 A, Sam Bye 1 G, 1 A, Tanner Gordon, 2 A, and Rourke Elliott, 1 A.
The Rams second game against Stayner was a hard fought 3-2 win to the bitter end.  Black opened the scoring.  Stayner fought back and netted 2.  Stevenson broke away to score, evening things up.  Black scored the game winning goal on a breakaway.  Defensive efforts by, Iles, Ty Duncan, Bye and Gordon were outstanding against a very aggressive Stayner team.  Forwards, Brown, Kelly, Dewar and Elliott were solid up front with their great positional play and relentless forechecking.  Troyer was awarded MVP for coming up with the big saves when needed to ensure the team made it to the championship game. 
The Championship game was played against Meaford.  Black opened the scoring with a one timer on a nice setup by Iles.  Meaford matched the score to make it 1-1.  Mount Forest answered back with 2 goals by Black and Elliott.  The Rams took a commanding 5-1 lead early in the second period with goals by Alex Iles assisted by Stevenson and Gordon.  Black scored another unassisted.  Although Troyer kept the Meaford shooters at bay with some great saves, they managed to get 2 goals by the end of the second.  Elliott added 1 assisted by Black to make it 6-3 heading into the 3rd period.  The Rams shut the door in the 3rd preventing Meaford from scoring.  Sealing the 7-3 victory with an empty net goal was game MVP, Black, assisted by Kelly.  Way to go RAMS!!!
