On Saturday January 16, 2010, the Mt. Forest Novice Reps traveled to Durham to participate in their tournament.  The team had its first game at 8:00 a.m. versus Flesherton.  The boys came out a little flat and lost 2-0.
The second game would have the boys playing a familiar foe in Hanover.  Ty Duncan scored first for Mt. Forest with a shot from the point that found the back of the Hanover net, assist to Gavyn Stevenson.  Mt. Forest went up 2-0 on a goal by William Black assisted by Anthony Kelly. Hanover managed to get one by Morgan Troyer, making it 2-1 after the first period.  Thomas Brown scored in the second unassisted, only to have Hanover counteract with a goal of their own.  It was a tight 3-2 game heading into the third period.  Mt. Forest sealed the victory on goals by Brown, assisted by Rourke Elliott, Evan Dewar and Black assisted by Stevenson.  Final score 5-2 for Mt. Forest.

The win over Hanover guaranteed the boys another shot at a championship title.  This time the opponent would be Cayuga.  Mt. forest opened the scoring on a goal by Brown, assisted by Elliott.  Cayuga tied it up, making it 1-1 after the first period.  The boys had a let down in the second period falling behind 3-1 heading into the third.  In the third period Morgan Troyer came up with some big saves to keep his team in it.  The defence of Duncan, Alex Iles, Sam Bye and Tanner Gordon were stellar shutting down Cayuga's shooters.  Mt. Forest cut into the lead on a goal by Black assisted by Iles.  Iles roofed a shot into the net making it a tied game with 4:03 left.  With 2 minutes left Brown backhanded a shot over the Cayuga goalie and into the net, assisted by Kelly.
