What a Weekend!!!!!
What a Weekend!!!!

The Walter Gretzky Tournament over the weekend brought lots of good times for the boys and parents alike.
The weekend started off with a game Friday morning against the local Brantford Pizza Pizza team.
Chris K. put the Rams ahead 2-0 with 2 quick goals and then Brantford scored on a penalty shot then came back 6 seconds later and tied the game. The Rams then went ahead early in the third but the Brantford team came right back to tie it 15 seconds later. Brantford then went ahead with what would become the game winner with 5 minutes left and the Rams couldn't get one in to tie it. Brantford ended up adding one more goal on a penalty shot at the end of the game  Final score was 5-3. Player of the game was Chris Kelly.

Game two Friday afternoon seen the boys take on a team from Waterloo and the boys took this tight game 1-0 on a goal by Ryan P. with assists going to Quentin K and Austin M. Coming up big when he had to Tyler R. made some key saves in earning the shut out and game MVP.

Going into game three, the boys needed to beat the Dundas team by three to advance to the semi finals.
This was one of the best games I have seen this team play with some solid defensive play from the defence core of Dalton H. Elijah M.,Quintan K. Kieran W.,Garrason L and Alex D. and again Tyler R. made some key saves in helping the boys skate to a 0-0 tie.Game MVP Jordan Allen played a hard fought and aggressive game. Way to go Jordan!!!!

Unfortunately this wasn't enough to go on to the semi's,  but the boys played some good hockey and seemed to have a lot of fun.

One of the highlights for the kids and parents alike was the meet and greet with Walter Gretzky. He is an amazing individual who spent as long as it took to talk with the kids and get pictures with them and their parents. (even when he thought he might run out of ink in his sharpie signing autographs for all of Garrasons siblings.)

This was a real team building weekend and hopefully the boys will continue to play hard heading into the final stretch of the season and into the playoffs.

If there are any parents/players that have some stories/pictures they would like to share on this site, you can email me at [email protected] and i will try to get them up.
