Tournament information update
Hey Moms & Dads!

I spoke directly with Jay Lewis (MFMH President) to get some matters cleared up regarding the upcoming tournament.

1. We are confirmed with 8 teams which is 160 participants (including coaches)

2. We get all the proceeds from the kitchen after expenses.

3. If we turn back the funds raised from the Raffle to MFMH, we will be refunded our $500 entry fee. Since we won't likely make that amount in proceeds - it is definitely worthwhile to do so.

4. We can collect and hold the items for the Raffle, there is no need to turn them over to Jay. We do, however, need to decide if we will staff it, or if MFMH will staff it. Let's keep in mind that there are many other activities that MFMH is responsible for staffing. Totally my personal thoughts....

5. The precedent is set that if we buy the Cow Bells as a fundraiser, we do have to turn the proceeds over the MFMH. I think it would be better if we just ordered enough for our team - I know I'm very jealous of Doug's cow bell.........

6. We have been asked NOT to solicit sponsorship/donations/support from local businesses for two reasons - one, MFMH approaches ALL businesses for sponsorship of the entire organization each season. It would look bad for each individual team to then go back and ask for support individually. Two - MFMH wants local businesses to see that they are being patronized by MFMH. Especially in the case of Foodland, which has so generously agreed to be the major Raffle Sponsor this year with the Free Grocery campaign.

So...we are presented with a couple of items to think about - do we donate more food as parents to help increase profits and decrease overhead? Are we able to adjust the existing arrangements that have been made for donated food?

I know Saturday is not going to be a great day for catching everyone with the Chats going on, so let's resolve to discuss matter on Sunday before the 2 p.m. game in the lobby. Say 1:30 p.m.?

See you at the arena,

Sarah
