Atom Rams Meet Walter Gretzky!
The Mount Forest Rams travelled to Brantford for the 13'th Annual Walter Gretzky Tournament January 14-16!

The Walter Gretzky Tournament is an annual event that brings together teams from all over much of Ontario. Brantford bills itself as the 'Tournament Capital of Ontario,' and we can certainly see why. In cooperation with the local businesses, and inspired by the Greatest Hockey Dad ever, the Mount Forest Rams enjoyed a weekend of play on and off the ice.

Walter met the team in their dressing room prior to game 2, and was happy to pose with each individual team player (and a Mom or two! as well as a 'Nanna'!). He signed sticks, and cards, and sticks, and coats,  and even gave a tatoo to a hockey Mom who shall remain nameless! He was also happy to pose with players, and the entire team.

The weekend tournament began with an eary start: the 9 a.m. game saw the Rams meet the home team, the Brantford Saints. The close game was well-played by the team, and ended with a close score. Player of the game Kaleb Rice.

Game 2 was played after the team went to 'lunch' and then met the Waterloo Wolves. While the wolves attempted to devour the rams, goalie Rourke Elliot was able to stave off the opposition. This resulted in Rourke being named the player of the game.

Game 3, played Saturday at the Civic Centre, saw the Rams meet Valley East (Renaud). The team fought hard, but came up short, in spite of the best efforts. Player of the game, Cole Whitten.

Remember, it's not whether or not you win or lose, it's how you play the game boys!
Play hard, play fair, have fun!
