Pee Wee B Girls win first Tournament!
Three days and four games later, the Rams bring home the Mitchell Meteors Womens Hockey Tournament Championship.
The girls got out of school on Friday afternoon to drive to Mitchell to play hockey (actually the parents drove). First game against Mitchell was their second meeting of the year and at the end it was their second win against Mitchell. Score 7 to 1. Bridgwater, Hofelle and Eccles made the goals and TJ let one sneak in as she was blinded by the opposition.
Game two on Saturday was supposed to start at 9pm but upon arrival they were running late by an hour. Score 4 to 2 against Twin Center. Pridham, Bridgwater and Eccles were on the score board again. This was a close game but a winner had to come forward and girls proved themselves.
Early Sunday morning on the road after a late Saturday night we meet Guelph for a 9am game. Score 9 to 0. TJ's second shutout of the year. I believe everyone on the team had a goal or assist.
After a great breakfast put on by the hosts we met Twin Centers again for 2pm for the Championship game. They were fresh to play as this was their first game of the day. This did not distract the girls. They were on a mission. Unfortunately Coach Donald started with a slight nervous twitch. The Team Doctors said he will be OK in a week, if the girls leave him alone. Score 4 to 2 again. The Teams huge crowd jumped up to their feet when the final horn went off. Excitement was in the air. Everyone was excited for the girls. McDonald was the tournament MVP, well deserved!
