Midget LL face off with Lucky Lucknow: Oct 22nd 2012
This
game started off in a different fashion for the MF Midget LL, Lucknow scored 2
goals late in the 1st to put MF behind for the first time of the
season. A last ditch effort to make up
some distance in the first Connor Kerr scored from a perfectly timed pass from
Captain Nathan Marshal.
The 2nd looked more promising, Owen Milne Scored with a pass from Tyler McCracken to bring on the tie for MF. Next Matt Hogg broke up the right side ice from defence and crushed all comers barring one past the net solo to make the score 4-3 MF. Lucknow answered right back to tie 4-4. With the second dying down Jessie Robison with 39.25 left in the second scored to bring mount forest up to the lead again 5-4.
The 3rd did not bring anything to the MF bench Losing their cool and allowing Lucknow to score 3 straight unanswered goals. After a late game injury the team had some time to regroup and Jessie Robinson banged in a goal at 2:10 left in the game (yet again keeping him to 2 goals a game). Time was running out for the boys but as luck would have it they became a man up with 0.27 seconds to go stacking up the sides on the face off and with Connor winning the draw allowed for a point shot to take off and Connor hammer it home in the net during the confusion bring the score to 6-6 with 18.4 left in the game. Time ran down with no further action in the game. The boys have to have a rethink on how they wish to play this year if they want to succeed.
