More than just teammates
Submitted By Kevin Rice on Mon 11 23, 15
The bantam rep boys had been trying to figure out how to support one of their coaches and team mate Rob and Sam Bye after tragedy struck earlier this year.

When the team heard about the spaghetti dinner and silent auction being held as a fundraiser following the terrible car crash they jumped in with both feet donating hockey stick coat racks to be auctioned. Wanting to show the Family their most heartfelt respect they contacted the Egremont optimists offering any services they could assist in. “We are there, whatever you need” was their message. The boys were given the task of heading to the optimist building Saturday morning and wrapping 500 sets of cutlery in napkins to be used at the dinner before heading off to their afternoon game. The team showed up with smiles and enthusiasm to get the job done. Hockey isn't just a sport to these boys. It's a way of life and to them Rob, Sam and Alex are family.
