The 2008/09 Bantam Girls Season has started
The Mount Forest Girls Bantam team played their first exhibition game of the season against the Walkerton B Girls on October 9th.
The two teams were very anxious to get things started for the season.
Mount Forest opened the scoring in the first period with their one and only goal.
Walkerton lashed back and netted 2 goals in the first period also. The 2nd and 3rd periods
had many opportunities for the Mount Forest Girls to tie it up, but just no luck at the net.
Officer kept the team in the game with some great saves.
The coaching staff are very pleased with the play of the girls and are looking forward to a great season.
On October 18th the girls headed up to Wiarton for their first league game of the season.
Lots of hard work and effort by everyone. The girls cameout strong and ended the game with a
7-0 win for their first league game. Each goal was a full line effort. Way to go Girls!!!
On October 19th the girls hosted an exhibition game against Kincardine B. Again Mount Forest
opened the scoring in the first period only to have Kincardine come back and get one of their own.
The 2nd period saw Kincardine pop 3 more in and Mount Forest only 1. The 3rd period saw Mount Forest
put one more in , but that was all we could sneak by Kincardine. Game ending in a 4-3 loss.
Hats off to Megan Yake for her first Hat Trick of the season!! This was anyones game and Sunday October 26th
Mount Forest has yet another opportunity to battle for the big one against Kincardine as the 2nd league game of the season takes place. Come on out and watch a great game of hockey!
