MOUNT FOREST RAMS NOVICE L.L.START 2010 SEASON OFF RIGHT!

In their first game of the New Year, the Mount Forest Rams Novice L.L. came out strong. Travelling to Walkerton this past Saturday, the Novice Rams played a hard-fought game.
Even as the players were shifted to new positions, they played consistently, and the results were impressive.

First period action saw Colby Storey put one in assisted by Nathan Zeinstra. Minutes later, Eli McCook popped another in, assisted by Brett Stewart and Alexander Varallo. Goalie Kaleb Rice enjoyed the period shutout: score at the bottom of the first 2-0.

Second period Walkerton fought back; score at the bottom of the second 2-1
But the rams rallied, and third period saw Colby pop in his second of the game, assisted by Hanna Gerrie and Evelyn Nanninga. Final score 3-1 for the Mount Forest Rams!

NOVICE L.L. at HARRISTON TOURNAMENT:

The Mount Forest L.L. Novice team travelled to Harriston for the annual tournament. 8 Teams rallied in play, with Mt. Forest meeting Listowel in game 1.

Rams opened the game as Noah Felsbourg score his first goal of the season assisted by Eli McCook. Listowel returned, leaving a score of 1-1 at end of the first.
Second period action saw the Rams thwart the Listowel team many times, with the help of great goal-tending by Kaleb Rice.
In the final period, the Rams rallied, and Eli McCook, assisted by A.P. Jake Kleinsteuber, and Brett Stewart to tie it up, but Listowel returned. Final score 3-2
PLAYER OF THE GAME: Noah Felsbourg

The second game of the day saw the Rams up against the Plattsville Novice L.L. The opposition came out strong scoring in the first, but Rams fought back, scoring in the second. Eli McCook lifted one into the net, assisted by Colby Storey, and Alexander Varallo.
Pulling their goalie in an exciting finish, was just a little too late. Plattsville took the game, but the Rams - who had played so hard - took the trophy for most heart!
