Midget HL Girls extend unbeated streak to 5
The Mount Forest Midget HL Girls played a solid game at the Reeves' Cup and extended their unbeaten streak to 5 games

The Midget HL Girls had a game plan before they hit the ice and they knew they each had to give 100% to make it work.  The previous 2 matches ended up in 1-1 ties with the Walkerton 'C' team; the goal today was a win and no penalties.

The action was well balanced and end to end for the first 23 minutes with solid goal tending for both teams. Jenna Yake found the mesh with 1.46 left in the second after picking up a rebound off a blistering Bobbie Jo Patterson shot on the Walkerton goalie.  The third period was much like the first two; both teams had several good scoring opportunities but it took until the 1 minute mark before the twine would bulge again.  The goal set up started with hardwork and determination by Lizzie Gerrie who won a couple battles behind the Walkerton net and eventually worked the disk to Lauren Oakes pinching in along the boards.  Oakes made no mistake and passed it right onto the tape of Steph Penney's stick who one timed it passed a startled Walkerton goalie and sealed the win for Mt Forest.

The entire team worked hard to keep out of the penalty box and earn the extra 5 points for the Mount Forest Girls Teams to help earn points and hopefully the pride of being the winners of the 2010 Reeves Cup.

The Mount Forest H.L. Girls made up an awesome banner and displayed it at the Dec 28th Torch Run to show the Canadian Athletes that we are behind them 100%.
