Congratulations to the Atom AE Team!
It's been a tough series with Blyth but in the end, the more determined team won. Game 5 proved to be an exciting one, with the match scoreless at the end of the first period.
Kaleb Rice found the twine to get us on the board in the first. Blyth came back at us in a big way, but between our solid defensive lines and Jackson McKenzie, we were able to keep the Blyth snipers at bay.
Neither team could do damage in the second frame, but in the third, Blyth tied the score. Mount Forest regrouped and the line of Eric McLean, Ashton Hall and Colby Storey cashed the winning goal. The third and fourth points were from Kaleb Rice and Anthony Kelly. The final of 4-1 was a result of an outstanding team effort.
A special shout out goes to Michael Rice, who put forth an excellent performance throughout the game. Overall Coach Jim is very proud of his team, and thanks Marissa Cottingham for her support and top notch work ethic at the beginning of the series, while Jackson was away.
Practice is tomorrow night. Be prepared to work hard. It's been hard work that got us this far, and more focus and dedication that will get us to the top.
