Atom AE, U11, 2011/2012 (Mt Forest Minor Hockey Association)

The Atom AE team won the  Championship with an exciting 2-1 overtime win. The 3rd overtime game in a 4 game series. Tcdmha scored in the 2nd period to take a 1-0 lead. The Rams agressive play was rewarded when Anthony Kelly flipped a rebound over the Rebels goalie late in the 3rd to send the game into ot. The Rams put on the inital pressure in OT but the best scoreing chance was by TCDMHA when a mad goal mouth scrabble ensued  somehow the puck was still outside the net. MONDAY NIGHT SAW THE ATOM AE REGROUP IN DESBORO AFTER A TOUGH OT LOSS IN MOUNT FOREST ON SUNDAY.     THE BOYS WHERE READY TO PLAY AND DOMINATED THE GAME FOR THE MOST PART. AN EARLY GOAL BY KALEB RICE WAS ANSWERED BY TCDMHA. A GOAL BY ERIC MCLEAN HALFWAY THRU THE 3RD PERIOD AND AN INSURANCE GOAL BY MICHAEL RICE SALTED AWAY THE HARD FOUGHT VICTORY. GAME 4 IS MOUNT FOREST  WED AT 6.25PM. GO RAMS GO!!!!!

GAME 2 PROVED AS EXCITING AS GAME 1 ONLY A DIFFERENT RESULT     MOUNT FOREST TOOK AN EARLY 1 GOAL LEAD ON A GOAL MOUTH SCRAMBLE WHEN ANTHONY KELLY PUSHED THE PUCK PAST THE TCDMHA GOALIE. THE LEAD STOOD UP UNTIL TCCDMHA CAPITALIZED ON A SCRAMBLE AROUND THE MT FOREST NET TO TIE THE SCORE 1-1.  MT FOREST MADE A BAD CLEARING PASS ON TO THE STICK OF A TCDMHA FORWARD WHO QUICKLY SCORED TO MAKE IT A 2-1 GAME. THE RAMS PLAYED DESPERATE HOCKEY AND ERIC MCLEAN SCORED TO SEND THE GAME INTO OVERTIME . TCDMHA SCORED THE OT WINNER WHEN THEIR FORWARD OUT BATTLED OUR RAM DEFENCE AND BURIED THE PUCK INTO THE ...

Wed night the team travelled to play TCDMHA  the first period had the Rams leading 1-0. Tcdmha scored twice to lead 2-1. Late in the 3rd the Rams rallied to tie up the score with 2 min left in the 3rd period.  A thrilling overtime followed with Michael Rice scoreing the winner with 5 minutes gone in overtime. The game was a fast rough affair with lots of contact from both teams. This is going to be a long tough series. The Rams are going to have to play at the top of their game to be sucessful. AFTER GOING A PERFECT 4-0 IN ROUND ROBIN PLAY THE ATOM AE IS MOVING ON INTO THE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES VS TCDMHA. IN ROUND ROBIN THEY  DEFEATED BLYTH BRUSSSELS  3-1 AND 2-0. ALSO WINNING OVER GODERICH  5-4 AND 8-1. THE BOYS ARE PROVING THAT HARD WORK IN PRACTICE AND A DISCIPLINE GAME PLAN IS THE ROAD TO SUCESS.
