Parent Meeting - Quick Notes
Something missed in the meeting - fundraising tickets need to be handed in PRIOR to October 26th. Please give your completed stubs to Dale as soon as possible. Meeting notes follow...
1) Staffing - Dave Stewart & Pete Lauson will be taking the trainers course on Oct 29 to assist on the bench - Thank you guys! Steven Stewart will help with practices once he takes the CHIP course
2) You will have noticed from our first exhibition game that there were calls that we have not seen before - anything above the neck will be called a head hit and result in a penalty - NO EXCEPTIONS!
3) We would like the players at practice 1/2 hour in advance and minimum 45 min. prior to games. This allows for dressing & coaching talks prior to going on the ice.
4) Inside the change room walls & on the ice we work as a team. Any "cliquey" stuff from school or social lives of the boys stay outside the arena - PLEASE.
There are no cell phones or devices with cameras permitted in the change room. Arena & Minor Hockey rule.
5) Fundraising - parents agreed to do 50/50 prior to games to offset costs for tournaments - Marcia Capell will organize a schedule for all to have a turn. Reeves Challenge Cup - Oct 26 - 30th - Laurie Doney will coordinate Minor Hockeys request. Thank you ladies!
6) Playoff Scheduling meeting is Feb 6
7) Tournaments - players would like to participate in 4 tournaments - parents agreed that was fair - would like 1 that was over night. Currently looking at Durham, Minto, Ripley. Rich will look for a couple later in the season for overnight to choose from.
8) Players were given Health Forms to be competed and returned. Please get those back to Rich / Dale as soon as possible.
9) Check the website regularily for updates - and amazing games stories! You can request email notification from the website for any schedule changes or news updates. This is a great feature to use.
10) We would like to have a phone chain for those games where we run into inclement weather. If you have a cell number if you could give it to Dale. Also, if we have email addresses we can send any scheduling changes this way.
