Finishing and Starting in the right direction...
With the regular season beginning to wind down the Midget LL are continuing to play well together adding another couple of games to the win column, finishing 2011 and starting 2012 on the right foot.

On December 29th the crew journeyed to Walkerton for their first game against the Capitals, and their last game of 2011. Scoring was held to a minimum for both sides with a final score of 2 - 1 for the Rams. Aidan Capell opened the scoring with some great passing work from Matt Hogg & Brett Doney less than a minute into the game. That remained the score until the 2nd period when Alex Bondy dropped the puck in the net off the face-off with the assists coming from Jake Keiffer and Gavin MacVicar. The Caps scored with less than 2 minutes left in the 2nd, leaving the third period scoreless for both sides. Final shots on net Rams 42 - Capitals 22.
Starting the New Year off right, and continuing the winning streak the Rams played Minto in the first of their series verses the Mad Dogs on Friday Jan 6 at home. Again, team captain Capell started the scoring in the first with an unassisted goal 6 minutes into the game, putting the home team on the board. Scoring continued for the Rams with the Kerr boys showing their passing skills down the ice, as Jarren gave a final pass to Connor who shot on net for the point. With less than 5 minutes left in the first MacVicar and Doney take the puck into the Mad Dog end, seeing no way around the defense MacVicar took a wrist shot just over the blue line to put the boys up 3 - 0. The Minto team scored 3 minutes into the 2nd giving them some life, but just 2 minutes later in a play from behind the net Hogg & J. Kerr got the puck out front to Branden Hotchkiss who scored on the pass. Less than 40 seconds later Jarren and Hogg continued the passing exhibition up the the ice for another goal, finishing the home side scoring at 5. Early in the third the Mad Dogs make another effort to get on the game sheet, but that would be the end of the scoring leaving the score at 5 - 2 Rams! Final shots on net Rams 33, Mad Dogs 19.
Sitting in the stands it is obvious to the parents and fans that hard work and practice does work and the payoff is a win! The passing and teamwork is very evident and both players and coaches should be commended for their hard work! Great job boys! Let`s keep the winning attitudes going!
There are just 3 games left in the regular season, plus a few tournaments and exhibition games. Remember to mark practices on your schedules as well, as they are vital as we near the end of the season and look towards playoffs!
