– The Mount Forest Rams peewee C's went 1-1 on Saturday and are off
to the semifinals on Sunday at the Walter Gretzky Girls Hockey
Tournament.
The Rams finished 2-1 in round-robin play which was good for second in their pool. They'll will face familiar foes in the semis as the West Grey Warriors finished first in the other pool.
The Rams opened Saturday with a 4-0 win over the Gloucester Stars.
Paige D. had a hat trick, finishing her troika of goals into an empty net on a unselfish pass from Haven L. who overlooked a sure goal to allow her teammate to score her third.
Morgan F. also scored for the Rams while Alyssa V. recorded the shutout.
Mount Forest ran into a Northern juggernaut in the Temiskaming IceHounds in Saturday's nightcap.
And despite playing far from their best, Mount Forest fell by a tight 2-1 margin.
