15B Champions in Home Town Tournament
1st Annual - Megan Beyers Memorial Tournament - Girls 15B Champions!
The Mount Forest Rams U15B had a very successful weekend competing in their own hometown tournament this past weekend.
The tournament name is in memory of Megan Beyers who was a big part in coaching these young girls over the years. The girls miss her dearly! This weekend was not just about hockey. It was about friends, family and community! It was so great to see the Mount Forest community come together and the tournament organizers did a great job making it all happen.
The girls won their games on Friday against Woolwich and Stratford and then continued the exciting weekend as most stayed at the arena to cheer on the Mount Forest Patriots. On Saturday morning, the girls lost to Saugeen Shores but then got back on the winning side of it all beating Orangeville Saturday afternoon. This was enough to lock up second place after round robin play. In continuation with the weekend excitement, the girls had their Christmas party on Saturday night and were rewarded with some much needed sleep-in time in order to get ready for the finals on Sunday evening. Saugeen Shores finished 1st place overall after round robin play and the girls knew that they would be in tough. It was a great battle with SS as the action went back and forth all game. With enough gas left in the tank, the Rams manage to slide one past with only 39 seconds left in the game! The girls played one of their best games of the year and came home with the Gold! Way to go Girls!
