The first shift started with some good digging on the boards by Samantha and the puck gets to Allyson, who looks first and then give a nice pass off the Haley who is ready for it......but Milverton is on a role too and as they get a chance they are of to the Mount Forest end and Marissa makes a good save. The play turns back to Milverton’s end as Danielle gets the puck in their end and then gives a great pass to Meagan as they go on a 2 on 1. But Jordyn has the rush back to pick it up. As Gillian finds the puck she takes it on a breakaway, but just as she want too shoot the puck is stolen from her stick. As Cali tries to catch it her stop comes to late and in the board she goes.
The puck makes it around the Rams net and Natalie brings it up, Samantha gets in on it, but a turnaround has Marissa facing a breakaway from Milverton but she makes a great save, it rebounds and stays in the Mount Forest end and with a shot, as the puck touches the outer end of her glove and slides over it, a 1-0 for Milverton.
The face off goes in the right direction, but Meagan’s hard shot is iced. Natalie and Cali work the puck so that Gillian can give off a nice shot that just went wide. Natalee stick handles her way in smoothly and with Haley on her side a good shot is given. Allyson hassles it on the blue line, with help from Jordyn and Samantha the puck stays in.
As the referee missed an obvious off side from Milverton, Marissa had to be ready, Jordyn showed some fancy footwork and with good forechecking, Natalie can pick it up and gives of a hard shot towards the Milverton goalie. It goes quick the other way and they catch Cali on her wrong foot and outplayed her as an 2-0 was the answer from Milverton. The girls in green got another good chance but there was the buzzer.
The second period the Rams woke up even more and Haley goes of with the puck, a great pass to Natalie and her shot is just wide.
Allyson show good defensive work but it couldn't’t prevent the third goal against. But Marissa is holding her own and shows off great stretches and saves many more. As the play goes on in the Milverton end Gillian works the puck behind the net and gives a great pass around the net to Savannah who is standing alone in position in the right spot the puck gets on her stick and ... it not moving, Natalie reaches out and over some Milverton players and make sure it goes there where it belongs, the first one is in!
Natalee takes the face off and the puck goes to Meagan who gives a great pass to Natalie.
Jordyn works hard on the boards and as she pushes forward out of her own end the puck keeps bouncing back to her, but there is no giving up and she wins that fight.
As the third period gets under way, Cali warms up and shows some nice back checking and with a pass to Allyson who makes sure it gets on Meagan stick, who turns and gives it to Danielle she chases it out and tries hard on the breakaway. But luck is not really on the Rams side, the post was hit many times, lots of passes end up with a Milverton stick in between. But the girls don’t give up. Jordyn brings the puck all the way in, Natalee and Danielle work together and with a nice pass from Danielle, Natalie scores the second goal for Mount Forest. The game is now quick Natalie tries again and a great shot is stopped by a great glove save from the Milverton goalie. As Mount Forest pulls its goalie and the girls give it their best one more time. A great and exiting game ends with hard work to show for and a joy to watch!!
